Is it hot in here?
What a weekend! We had perfect weather the last few days, about 77F (25C) on Saturday and 82F (28C) on Sunday!
Catherine had some stuff to do on Saturday, so I hopped on my bike and rode to work to pick up something I had forgotten there. That was fairly annoying since Hatefest, aka Battlecry was going on at SBC park. It’s a weekend long event where a bunch of narrow minded religious zealots get together and condemn everyone who isn’t exactly like them. I then zipped over to my apartment to check see if some mail I have been waiting for had arrived (it hadn’t). After a quick pit stop I headed down Highway 1 to enjoy the warm weather.
There were lots of bikes out and I saw several GS’s, but no 1200 GSA’s. After a while along the coast I headed inland through the tree’s and enjoyed the windy roads. It was great using parts of my tires that haven’t been used for a while. Alice’s restaurant was full of Hardley Ablesons and the store across the street was lined with metrics. Clearly I wasn’t the only one who thought it was perfect riding weather.
The days ride got me all juiced up again for the ride to Drumheller that is planned for this summer!
Sunday was spent on a beach in Monterey.
We left around noon and did a nice leisurely drive down the 101 South to Monterey Bay. My truck said the temperature outside was 28C, it felt hot enough to believe it.
We stopped at a hoity toity Safeway to pick up some items for lunch (Veggies and hummus for Catherine, a sammich for me and a pack of chicken dogs for Hoshi). Catherine and I vegged while Hoshers did a bit of swimming in the surf, hunted some beach flies and then slept on the sand. We caught up on some reading while stretched out on a blanket. I saw a cloud that looked just like someones large intestine but it seemed I was the only one impressed with that.
We swung by Catherine’s sisters place on the way back for a little family gathering. There were new leaves and small dates on their date tree in the backyard. It was nice just hanging out on their patio watching the kids in her family play badminton, drool over Bert’s snazzy new TomTom and watch the hummingbirds fight. I didn’t even mind getting home a bit to late to catch The Simpson’s.
What a great weekend.

Looks like a pretty nice weekend to me! I can’t wait till spring…
can’t wait to get back on my bike and put on some km’s, head to Drumheller, do some camping…sigh. Lucky bugger.
